Announcing a gig by Son del Sur, Wednesday 4th March. Come boogie…..
poster by Makrina T. Isn’t it a beauty!
Hurrah! We’ve moved to the ITALIAN CLUB, with classes and social dancing every Thursday from 26th Feb 7pm-11pm. 77 Federal St, North Hobart. We’ve had a lovely time at the Uniting church, and we’re looking forward to moving to the spacious Italian Club. We’re hoping to make good use of their bar, their restaurant and host some fun parties, workshops and classes there. Come dance with us!
Our last night at the church proved to be a successful one. A combination of a great turnout and a generous last minute donation from our friend Paul Stockwin saw us raise over $400 dollars towards Rose’s fundraiser. A big thank you to everyone who was there and thanks to all for supporting us through the venue transition stage over the last few months.
An early heads up that this week (Feb 19) will be our last Thurs night at the North Hobart Uniting Church, 2 Swan St, North Hobart (opposite State Cinema) before moving to the Italian Club.
As a small way of helping one of our dancing friends, Rose, with her efforts to save her family home, we will be donating proceeds from the night to her fundraising efforts.
We’d love to see you there to say ta-ta and thank you to the church and to give a helping hand to a friend in need.

Pupy y los que son son : Mi Timba “Cerra” encapsulates a style of Cuban Salsa called “timba”. This style of salsa has a jazz flavour, with the drum kit as part of the percussion lineup. “Pupy” was the keyboard player for the famous “Los Van Van” and if you like them, this album will not disappoint. Blending the charanga feel of strings, full vocal corros, with more modern sounds this finely crafted album has a great balance of pumping dance-floor power and relaxed lean-against-the bar listening. Bonus music video clip.
